What are the seasons in Thailand?

Thailand has three seasons in a year with the cool season between November to February, hot season between March to June, and the raining season between July to October.  The average temperature is around 30 to 35 degrees Celsius. The northern and northeastern part of Thailand experiences cooler temperatures during the cool season especially around the hill area where the temperature sometime drops to a one digit. During the raining season it does not usually rain for the whole day. The rain could be very heavy but will usually last less than an hour.

Which seasons should be avoided when travelling to Thailand?

Thailand is a tropical destination with nearly 365 days of sunshine even during the raining season. This makes Thailand a year round destination. There are festivals to celebrate for every season of the year therefore return visitors may wish to visit during the different time of the year.
